Tecplot 360 2011R2 is a database, debugging, distribution, help, IDE, and webmaster tool that is available for Windows 7, Vista, XP, Mac OS X, UNIX, and Linux platforms. It has a starting price of $4,000 and users with current SMS agreements can upgrade at no cost. Performance tests on eight-core machines with 24GB RAM have shown that the R2 version of Tecplot 360 2011 is four times faster than the 2009 version and two times faster than the 2010 version when animating many translucent zones.
